McClelland Gallery
LANGWARRIN
2000 - 2014
An addition made to the modest and restrained, late 1990s modernist building set in the delicate Australian landscape - the design includes new exhibition space, loading and storage facilities for both the 2D and 3D art works, administration spaces, and catering services.
The client’s specifications for environmental control were stringent, given the gallery’s need to protect the significant works-on-paper collection. Upgraded environmental services were incorporated with minimal intrusion into the existing spaces, and without compromising the original design intent.
